The Very Hungry Caterpillar Activities!

Spring has a ARRIVED! A CLASSIC story that I love to use to reinforce sequencing is The Very Hungry Caterpillar! My students always LOVE this story and all the retelling activities that we do! These activities were created for Kindergarten but could be used for pre-k, kindergarten, or 1st grade! All activities below can be found in my Hungry Caterpillar Book Companion or Hungry Caterpillar Craft on TPT by clicking the links!

These sequencing mats were a great addition to my sequencing lesson! It was FUN but also a great assessment tool to see which students could accurately retell the story!

I used this activity as another great way to reinforce sequencing but also was a great way to incorporate math!

These retelling hats were a WIN…as you can see my kiddos were ALL SMILES! 😉

I used this simple reader during small group and again my kiddos were loving it! They could relate to the text and were so excited about reading…a WIN, WIN! 🙂

Last, but not least we made these cute little caterpillars to go along with our story. It is a super simple craft but if your Kinders are like mine they LOVE CRAFTS! 🙂
