Green Monsters & Shape Monsters

| | |

Today was Green Day!  Green day is a always a blast because we do some really fun activities with the book Go Away Big Green Monster by Ed Emberley–this is definitely a must read on green day!  We made our very own green monsters as well as a class BIG monster.  This activity is always so much fun!

We also have been learning our shapes this week

and today we made shape monster glyphs.

Here is the Glyph for the shape monster.

Thanks for sharing these cute ideas! I have a monster theme in my first grade this year and had planned to read "Go Away, Big Green Monster." Now I have a project to do with it (plus a math activity.)

  2. Hi Jamie,
Thanks for the awesome ideas! I would like make the super cute monster glyphs with my kiddos but this teacher cannot cut a perfect circle to save her life! DO you have templates you would share?

  3. Mrs. Fleenor & Katie-Thank you SO much! 🙂

Jana-I do not have a template for the shape monsters. Those are dicut shapes. Sorry.

  4. I love the idea, but I can't download it from Scribd. 🙁 We're getting ready to study shapes, and it's a great activity!
